FIELD: power engineering; diagnosing ice situation in region using telemechanics and communication channels. SUBSTANCE: system has transmission control unit made in the form of high-frequency oscillator connected through intermediate filter and coupling capacitor to power transmission line; reception control unit incorporating signaling unit connected through intermediate filter and coupling capacitor to power transmission line and to measuring units which are coupled with critical ice load sensors. Signals picked off preset high-frequency oscillators of transmission control units function as data media and arrive at spatially distributed sensor and to measuring units coupled with critical ice load sensors through tuning adapters, Reception control units are connected to spatially distributed sensor which is, essentially, phase conductor of power transmission line between points of connection of transmitter and receiver coupling capacitors. High-frequency signal picked off spatially distributed sensor and modulated by varying parameters of deicing phase conductor governs changes in ice deposits on entire power transmission line. Critical ice loads at preset points of power transmission line are detected by maximal variation of this high-frequency signal modulated due to changes in parameters of one of measuring units with aid of tuning adapter when critical ice load sensor operates.
