FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery. SUBSTANCE: electrodes are superposed on proximal and distal sections of damaged nerve. In addition, third electrode is introduced into muscle innervated by damaged nerve. Nerve is irritated by pulse electric current. Muscle potential is recorded. Fact of regeneration is judged by availability of potential, and degree of nerve trunk regeneration is judged by potential value. Method allows sufficiently accurate determination of nerve fiber regeneration and planning of treatment course duration.
