INTRACAVATORY RADIATOR FOR SHF PHYSIOTHERAPY (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2117496 C1

FIELD: medical apparatuses of UHF and SHF bands used in intracavatory physiotherapy and also in radiometry, SHF-tomography and SHF-thermography. SUBSTANCE: radiator has body with coaxial lead-in of electromagnetic energy and coaxial resonator and dielectric cylindrical cap. External conductor of coaxial resonator is made in the form of single-start spiral displaced to one of elements on internal surface of dielectric cap with outer diameter by 1.1-2 factors smaller than inner diameter of dielectric cap. In this case, cross-section of spiral is in shape of truncated circle located with its truncated side diametrically opposite to direction of displacement. In the second version, outer diameter of cylindrical part of surface of external conductor of coaxial resonator equals inner diameter of dielectric cap, and internal conductor of coaxial resonator is made in the form of rod with variable diameter along resonator axis and strip located along flat part of external conductor of resonator. Distance between internal conductor and flat surface of external conductor is chosen variable along longitudinal axis of resonator and spiral has variable pitch in length. Radiator is intended for physiotherapeutic treatment of human urinogenital organs, in particular, prostate. Possible also is physiotherapeutic treatment of respiratory tracts. When radiator is introduced into large blood vessels or in esophagus, it may be used as radiation source for SHF tomography or as receiving antenna in radiometry and thermography. EFFECT: improved efficiency in radiation with simultaneous narrowing of diagram of radiation on certain areas of patient body. 6 cl, 7 dwg
