APPARATUS FOR CATCHING AND REMOVING RUBBISH FROM PIPELINE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for cleaning water of open basins supplied for processing purposes, for instance, for cooling condensers at heat and atomic stations. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has string net positioned in pipeline and composed of tense strings extending in parallel one with another in common plane closing pipeline section at an acute angle to water flow direction. Rubbish caught by net slides along it and is accumulated at its end. Rubbish is periodically removed through drain pipeline connected adjacent to rubbish accumulation place. Rubbish is washed away from net by means of segmented rotary gate directing local water flow to rubbish accumulation place at reverse side of net. EFFECT: simplified construction, reduced sizes and decreased hydrodynamic resistance of cooling water tract of heat-exchanging equipment. 3 dwg
