SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of water purification from suspended particles, both in open reservoirs and in closed buildings, as well as for purification of industrial and household sewages, which contain suspended particles. Method of water purification from suspended particles lies in its filtration on mesh with side of mesh cell clearance 0.040 - 0.500 mm and diameter of mesh wire 0.03 - 0.200 mm, located vertically or with inclination of 35° and less from vertical towards polluted water, with water consumption 900 - 30000 l/day per each 0.01 m² of filtering mesh area with simultaneous aeration of water before filtering mesh with air consumption 0.5 - 2.0 m³/hour per each metre of filtering mesh length. Device includes vertical case with branch pipe for supply of purified water and cone-like bottom with branch pipe for discharge of pollutants, provided with vertical or inclined mesh, installed with inclination 35° and less from vertical towards the side of polluted water, attached to case wall with formation of clean water tank, branch pipe of clean water discharge, located on case in clean water tank and aerator, which consists of horizontal pipe, equal in length to the length of mesh installed in purified water tank.

EFFECT: increase of productivity with preservation of required water quality, reduction of specific quantity of metal and dimensions of device.
