FIELD: water supply technology. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in systems of surface draining and in systems of water supply from open water sources. Device has float and water intake chamber which is installed under float and is rigidly connected with it. Upper edge of water intake chamber is deep below water surface level by 0.15-0.30 m. Float is made in the form of four sections, each bent through 90 deg. Sections are connected to each other with creating circle in plan and with opening in center of circle. Water intake chamber is made in the form of cone which is turned with its top down. Aforesaid embodiment increases maneuverability of water intake and adds convenience to its operation.
