FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method includes wetting limestone with salt solution followed by roasting. Novelty consists in that material is roasted at 850-900 C and, as salt solution, raw brine in amount 0.9-1.6% is used. The latter is kimberlite ore mining waste with concentration 236.8- 293.1 g/l and is composed of (in g/l): calcium chloride, 150.2-173.5; sodium chloride, 31.3-42.6; magnesium chloride, 28.4-37.6; potassium chloride, 17.3-24.2; strontium bromide, 9.1-14.3; sodium sulfate, 0.5- 0.9. invention can be applied when off-grade raw material is available in region. EFFECT: lowered roasting temperature and improved quality of lime when using raw material with high content of fluorspars and dolomite-enriched limestones. 2 cl, 1 tbl
