FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: recuperator has two parallel shafts coupled through mechanical transmission having three toothed gears meshed in succession, flexible member, two controlled couplings and controlled brake. Freewheel clutches with mutually opposed freewheel directions are attached to shafts. Toothed gears are arranged for engagement between them on rims of clutches. Flexible member supports are positioned on rims of clutches. Sprockets of freewheel clutches are secured on shafts for rotation and cooperation with controlled clutches. Such design allows flywheel to be eliminated from vehicle recuperator construction. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation due to reduced number of flexible members and other links and increased efficiency. 2 dwg
