FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: telemetering system of object identification has reading device and pickup with transceiver antennas. Pickup is mounted on object distant from reading device so that phase centers of signals carrying and noncarrying information on particular object are distant one from another by distance found by formula nλ/4, where λ is maximum working length of wave of system and n=0, 1 2,... . Generator of reading device has wide range and mean lengths of waves of subranges are determined by formula λn = Λ. Electrical axes of antennas of reading device and pickup cross at acute angle found from inequality β ≥ (βo+ βcy)/2, where βo is width of major lobe of reflection pattern of body of identified object; βcy is width of major lobe of directivity pattern of antenna of reading device. Such system operates in several subranges of waves and has enhanced operation range thanks to increase of modulation of summary signal reflected from pickup and body of object. EFFECT: enhanced operation range.
