SUBSTANCE: object identification system comprises: a generator, two high-frequency signal dividers, high-frequency signal divider with 90° phase shift, a high-frequency amplifier, a circulator, a local surface electromagnetic wave former, two mixers, two low frequency amplifiers, two low-pass filters, an analogue-to-digital converter, a digital signal processor, N radio-frequency labels, where N is not less than two, with antennae, a metal cabinet housing the local surface wave former and the objects to be identified, on which radio-frequency labels are attached, having an impedance modulator, a high-frequency current rectifier, an electronic circuit with a random signal generator and an antenna.

EFFECT: reading multiple radio-frequency labels of identified objects in the working volume of a metal cabinet.
