FIELD: pipeline laying technology. SUBSTANCE: this relates to connection of two underwater pipelines by adapter unit without employing divers and guiding ropes. Used for this purpose is adapter unit which at its both ends has turnable head-pieces and couping means. Head-pieces are joined with receiving units located on connecting parts of underwater pipelines. Adapter unit which contains pipeline to be connected is preferably lowered in vertical position and turned. During this operation, two turnable head-pieces are lowered in mating receiving units at ends of pipelines being connected. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 8 cl, 10 dwg
