DEVICE FOR CREATING CUT-OUT IN UNDERGROUND BED Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: device is intended for making cut-out close to bore-hole which crosses underground bed. Device has arm of chain saw. Arm carries endless chain with cutting members. At operation of device, cutting chain of saw runs around arm which gradually turns from longitudinal position relative to bore-hole to lateral position relative to bore-hole, this forcing cutting members of saw to make cut-out in underground bed and casing pipe or in bore-hole lining if this is provided. Power drive unit of cutting device has hydraulic motor which is installed inside body with possibility of displacement. Under action of hydraulic pressure, hydraulic motor and turning mechanism move along body. At release of hydraulic pressure, hydraulic motor returns to initial position under action of spring. Application of aforesaid embodiment of device allows for increasing area and depth of cut-out made around bore-hole which crosses underground bed. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
