FIELD: abrasive jet treatment of high rigidity materials such as natural stone, possibly in machine engineering, machine tool manufacture and other industry branches. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of acting with use of feeler upon worked surface by means of high speed air-abrasive jet formed in speedup nozzle of apparatus. Novelty is feed of abrasive to jet in the form of fluidized bed. Feed rate is controlled automatically due to mutual arrangement in subcritical portion of nozzle zone of feeding abrasive powder and zone of taking pressure for powder feed. Attack angle of worked surface is set in dependence upon relation of erosion wear intensities of materials of feeler and worked surface. In order to cut fragile material, feeler of ductile material is used and vice versa in order to cut ductile material feeler of more fragile material is used.
