FIELD: ship repair industry, construction, mechanical engineering, petroleum and gas industry, in particular, processing of articles for imparting resistance to articles to various natural and technogenic factors destructive for surfaces of articles.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing surface and providing coating by accelerated particle deposition process, said processes being carried out by simultaneously scanning surface with two individual two-phase flows of equal linear speeds selected from proposed dependences; preparing surface for subsequent coating including processing of surface with abrasive particles, which are accelerated by gaseous flow, by scanning said surface with two-phase flow having predetermined speed. Apparatus has spraying unit adapted for applying of coating and made in the form of booster supersonic nozzle equipped with working gas-carrier supplying device and device for introducing of gas-powder mixture into spraying unit, feeding-dosing device, and spraying unit for preparing of surface for subsequent coating procedure.

EFFECT: improved physicochemical properties throughout the entire length of elongated large-sized articles operating under variable power loading and temperature conditions, at increased humidity and in the presence of alkaline and acids.
