FIELD: lining of heating furnaces. SUBSTANCE: surface is lined with fibrous lining material where fibres are mainly parallel to plane perpendicular to surface of space. Use is made of unfastened, separate plate-type strips of fiber which are located near each other forming stacks fit for transportation. Binding compound is applied to edges of strips located near one another over entire area of layer of strips of stack. Batch of strips treated with binding compound is taken from stack and is pressed to surface and crimped to obtain required density. Strips are taken by one batch. EFFECT: simplification of lining jobs and reduction of their cost; facilitated repair and maintenance of furnace unit. 18 cl, 10 dwg
