FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: device for transportation of rock mass is intended for use in opencast mining of minerals. Device has transportation line which is made in the form of system of ropes. Rigidly fastened on end of one of ropes is vessel for carrying rock mass. Included in this vessel is suspended platform. Installed on travel platform is mechanism for control of vertical movement of rock carrying vessel. Mechanism for control of horizontal movement of rock carrying vessel is made in the form of one or several reversible propeller air motors of adjustable pitch. Pivotally mounted on edges of turnable blades are circular bodies or flywheels of non-reversible power units. Non-reversible power units can be made with internal combustion engines or electric motors. Clamshell of any appropriate design can be used as component of rock mass carrying vessel. Aforesaid embodiment of device allows for increasing productivity in transportation of rock mass for further loading out or discharge to dump. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 9 cl, 6 dwg
