FIELD: manufacture of building materials, in particular, methods of production of heat-insulating high-temperature fibrous lining of thermal units, for instance, industrial furnaces. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of aqueous dispersion for impregnation on the basis of clay and sulfonol and two-stage treatment of fibrous lining. Prior to treatment (deposition by spraying) mounted on thermal unit fibrous lining is punctured by conical needles, then deposited by spraying is dispersion containing 22-35 wt.p.p. of clay and 3-7 wt.p.p. of sulfonol per 100 wt.p.p. pf water in total amount of 5-15% of weight of 1 sq.m of fibrous lining on the basis of absolutely dry substance of dispersion. During the second stage, deposited by spraying is dispersion of the following composition, wt.p.p. per 100 wt.p.p. of water: clay, 14-18; sulfonol, 2-4 in total amount of 1-8% of weight of 1 sq.m of fibrous lining on the basis of absolutely dry substance of dispersion. EFFECT: prolonged service life of refractory lining at service temperature higher 850 C.
