PISTOL CARTRIDGE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: ammunition for pistols and submachine guns. SUBSTANCE: cartridge includes bullet with bimetal shell, steel core, lead jacket with beaded bottom and tracer, case of cylindrical type with percussion cap and powder charge. Tracer is composed of low-temperature inflammable mixture in the form of truncated cone which smaller base is located near shell bottom. Low part of tracer has axial cavity. Description gives certain relations of parameters of bullet and caliber, compaction factor of tracer composition and density of charging. Design of pistol cartridge and chosen parameters make it feasible to increase shooting efficiency at ranges of 200 m and more by provision of target indication, fire correction and signalling with preservation of ballistic characteristics and high density of hits.
