FIELD: pistol cartridges, especially cartridges with a high stopping power of the bullet. SUBSTANCE: the cartridge has a case with a primer and propellant charge, as well as a bullet. The bullet has an envelope in the form of a cup that accommodates a slug of heavy plastic material enveloping the slug of flexible non-metallic material projecting out of the envelope section. The length of the bullet leading part equals 0.64 to 0.78 of the bullet caliber, the height of the projecting part of the non-metallic slug-to-the diameter at the envelope section ratio equals 0.40 to 0.85, the diameter at the envelope section-to-the envelope wall thickness ratio equals 17 to 25, and the bullet weight coefficient and the loading density equal (5.6-8.5)g/cu. cm and (0.8- 1.0)g/cu. cm, respectively. EFFECT: enhanced stopping power and piercing effect of the bullet. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
