FIELD: electrical and power engineering. SUBSTANCE: load equalizer is characterized in that its hermetically sealed casing wherein deep vacuum is built up accommodates vertically mounted single salient- pole armature of two combined disk-type unipolar electromagnetic exciters which is installed on radial-axial self-aligning magnetic support provided with axial and radial displacement limiters and used at the same time as hub of rim superflywheel wound of high-strength threads; exciters use common thermionic or sliding current collector and separate peripheral thermionic current collectors with grid frequency control. Rotor self-alignment is ensured due to conical shape of magnetic support; axial and radial displacement limiters are, essentially, support bearings made of hard self-lubricating electricity-conducting materials; anode of central thermionic current collector is cooled down; heated cathodes of peripheral current collectors and field coils are separated by cooled wall. EFFECT: provision for simultaneous charge and discharge, recuperation, and desired time of energy storage under stand-by conditions at very high specific power intensity and economic efficiency of energy conversion. 2 cl, 2 dwg
