FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of phenol and acetone by cumene method. High-boiling waste from phenol and acetone production are processed by thermic decomposition of phenolic resin in reactor of column type at 300-340 C and under pressure up to 2 kg/cm2. Phenol, cumene, α--methylstyrene and 50-100% acetophenone are collected as distillate. Vat product is removed continuously and 1-15% water as a steam. Decomposition is carried out at steam feeding in vat part of reactor at amount 1-15% of phenolic resin mass. The total yield of useful products is increased by 10-50 kg as measured for 1000 kg raw. EFFECT: increased yield of products. 1 cl, 3 tbl
