Abstract RU 2120685 C1

FIELD: chemical power supplies; lead storage batteries for internal- combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: storage battery has main cell with developed active material and pulse-operated cell of lower internal resistance than that of main cell. Single-pole output terminals of main and pulse-operated cells are closed; power capacity of pulse-operated cell is 1 to 10% of that of main cell. Apart from main and pulse-operated cells, storage battery may have auxiliary cell similar in design to main cell but having lower capacity. Auxiliary cell is connected to main and pulse-operated cells so that electric current flows only towards auxiliary cell which functions to maintain steady state voltage across ignition circuit of internal-combustion engine. Storage cells may be mounted in common case or made as self-contained units with separate cases fastened through detachable joints. EFFECT: improved service life and specific performance characteristics of storage battery. 4 cl, 3 dwg
