FIELD: printing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting off folds of book block and/or undercutting sheets of book block in spine zone; cutting transverse through grooves in book block spine; applying glue to book spine and side surfaces; filling transverse grooves with glue and glueing soft cover or framing material to book block. Depth of grooves is 2-10 mm, width is 0.5-10 mm and height of side glue layers is 2-10 mm. Such method allows glue clip defined by glue layers and embracing spine zone of book block at three sides to be stiffened and strength of glue fastening of books to be increased by more than 12 times as compared to existing stitchless fastening method.
