FIELD: aircraft manufacture; assembly of aircraft fuselages. SUBSTANCE: method includes assembly and riveting of upper portion of passenger compartment; assembly of upper panels is effected in separate completing jig, after which large-sized upper portion of passenger compartment is placed in supporting device and is riveted in automatic riveting numerically-controlled machine; after riveting, upper portion of passenger compartment is mounted on fuselage. Removal of large-sized upper portion of passenger compartment from completing jig, transportation and installation in supporting device and on fuselage may be performed with the aid of cross-member equipped with spring-loaded suspensions. EFFECT: reduced consumption of labour; mechanization and automation of drilling and riveting jobs. 2 cl, 7 dwg
