FIELD: measurement technology, measurement and check of translations. SUBSTANCE: interrogation and output windings are put on ends of waveguide from magnetostriction material with dampers. Permanent immobile magnets are positioned above windings. One more magnet is coupled to object of translation. Input of amplifier-former is linked to output winding and former of pulse of recording current is connected to interrogation winding. Magnetostriction translation converter includes two converters of time interval to digital code, each one composed of D flip-flop-flop and counter. Inputs of counters are connected to output of generator of counting pulses. Apart from them converter incorporates clock generator, adder, shift register and buffer register. EFFECT: increased measurement precision thanks to measurement of time delay between time moments corresponding to middle of two voltage pulses induced in output winding during one measurement cycle. 2 dwg
