FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: converter has magnetostrictive acoustic line with acoustic dampers at ends, immobile excitation coil and mobile intake coil. Circuit of converter incorporates detector of amplitude magnitude with resistive divider across output, source of constant voltage, two comparators and NOT-AND gate connected to outputs of comparators and is designed to determine moment of coming of ultrasound wave. Magnitude of amplitude of received signal is diminished by factor of K by resistive divider and is used as reference signal in first comparator. Signal of source of constant voltage is used as reference signal in second comparator for elimination of signals of false operation of first comparator caused by noise. Error in determination of moment of coming of ultrasound wave diminishes and accuracy of conversion increases owing to setting of reference level proportional to amplitude of signal in intake coil. EFFECT: diminished error in determination of moment of coming of ultrasound wave and increased accuracy of conversion. 4 dwg
