FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: steam-turbine power plant that has steam generator, steam turbine, condenser, condensate pipeline, feedwater tank, and feedwater pipeline is provided with heat- transfer apparatuses installed in condensate and/or feedwater pipelines for heating feedwater. These heat-transfer apparatuses are partially heated by reheat steam. During short- time peak load intervals or too low power capacity of system, turbine power is raised within 20-40 s by shutting off reheat steam supply with aid of load-controlled valve. This procedure can partially compensate for short- time peak load demands. However, such type of control will inevitably cause short-time voltage drop in power system during first 30 s. To prevent this, we propose connection of unit incorporating superconducting magnetic energy storage to power system in parallel with generator. Such arrangement is suited to steam- turbine power plants of all types. EFFECT: improved efficiency of heat or steam storage during power deficiency intervals in power system due to introduction of superconducting energy storage. 13 cl, 3 dwg
