FIELD: main synthesis industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing of chloroprene as semiproduct by dehydrochlorination of 3,4-dichlorobutene-1 in the presence of lime and polyol such as glycol selected from (poly)ethylene glycol and (poly)propylene glycol, preferably ethylene glycol at 70-150 C. Lime is used in amount of at least 0.5 M of calcium per mole of dichlorobutene. The method makes it possible to simplify manufacture of chloroprene.
