FIELD: information displaying equipment, in particular, gray-scale displays. SUBSTANCE: device has liquid-crystal display with two orientation states, multiplexer, shift register, clock oscillator, two groups of transmission control gates, univibrator, AND gate and counter. Multiplexer provides multiplexing of odd and even lines. Goal of invention is achieved by introduced two multiplexers for odd and even columns and converter of input code to parallel four-bit code. Method for electronic control of address access involves control of white filling rate of each displaying cell in response to binary code values for gray scale levels. Each displaying cell is formed from segments on intersection of corresponding lines and two adjacent columns. Region of each displaying cell is filled by means of sequential application of corresponding values of special binary code to adjacent odd and even columns of corresponding lines in displaying cells using preset ratio of weights of bits of gray-scale level codes according to areas of segments of displaying cell. EFFECT: simplified operations of panel in TV mode, decreased memory requirements for its control. 9 cl, 27 dwg, 3 tbl
