FIELD: medium- and high-power DC machines with single-layer windings. SUBSTANCE: m-pass lap winding has 2Z semi-coil groups each containing un coil sides on 2p pole pitches of armature core surface. In order to reduce voltage ripples between adjacent commutator segments and unbalanced internal voltage across parallel circuits of different winding passes, ratio of 2Z semi-coil groups to 2p pole pitches (Z/p) is even number which is not multiple of m and number of passes is odd number, preferably m = 3, 5; even number of coil sides is chosen for semi-coil groups which is not to exceed un = 4 (6). Armature winding coils are of stepped design so that one half of coils included in coil group has short pitch and other half, long pitch. EFFECT: improved commutation. 2 dwg
