FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has tensioning members engaging with both strands of flexible tie and intercoupled by means of flat rod mechanism. Rod mechanism is made in form of articulated four-link device with base coupled with rocker, connecting rod and second rocker. Tensioning member engaged with outer side of driven strand of transmission is installed on lever rigidly coupled with second rocker of articulated four- link spring-loaded device. Rockers of articulated four- link device can be made of equal length and installed parallel to each other. Tensioning of flexible tie takes place automatically depending on transmitted load. At increase in load, simultaneously with increase in tension, angle of wrap of flexible tie is increased. EFFECT: increased traction capacity of transmission. 2 cl, 1 dwg
