FIELD: computer engineering, in particular, information input. SUBSTANCE: device has two-dimensional and one-dimensional movement detectors. One-dimensional movement detector detects linear movement with respect to desktop in direction which is perpendicular to line which runs through detectors. movement of manipulator over desktop provides information on distance and direction of movement. Outputs of detectors are device output. Translational movement of manipulator in its coordinate system is detected by output of two-dimensional detector. Rotational movement is detected by difference between output of one-dimensional movement detector and one coordinate of two- dimensional movement detector. Calculation of required difference is achieved by additional instruction in software of computer which uses this manipulator. EFFECT: possibility to translate additional angular coordinate of manipulator rotation in desktop plane. 1 dwg
