FIELD: shipbuilding; vessels running in ice and breaking ice cover by resonance method. SUBSTANCE: submersible icebreaking vessel has hull with fore fairing mounted for extension; hull is provided with hydrostatic pressure sensor arranged in aft extremity of vessel. To maintain resonance speed and to ensure required interference of waves, proper extension of fairing shall be ensured and pressure shall be checked by means of sensor. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of icebreaking process due to control of wave interference. 4 dwg
