STEAM-GAS REACTOR FOR ROTOR-PISTON ENGINES Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2123605 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines; devices with combination combustion chamber separated from engine and operating on external pressure of liquid or gaseous fuel and water. SUBSTANCE: reactor has combustion chamber in form of ball sections placed one into the other with external operating pressure of 10-12 atm. These sections provide direction of burning from center of space to walls with possibility of atomizing, focusing and collision of fuel particles. Reactor is combined with corresponding power rotor-piston devices and pneumatic recuperators arranged on axle-shafts which simplifies design of automobile, increases dimensions of passenger compartment in small-size body and decreases mass to 500-600 kg. Operation of reactor with rotor-piston device takes place without high pressure differentials as distinct from crank-and-connecting rod mechanisms. Rotor-piston devices are charged with constant steam-gas pressure whose value is somewhat lower than external pneumatic pressure (from recuperators) delivered into reactor. EFFECT: increased overall dimensions of passenger compartment, reduced mass. 8 cl, 1 dwg
