FIELD: metallurgy; passing of steel strip through installation with several operating positions. SUBSTANCE: in process of machining strip should be turned over with machined lower side upwards and back for checking. Strip is introduced into turning-over column between operating positions and is passed in column through upper and lower rollers arranged at a distance from each other in vertical. Strip, passing from roller to roller, is twisted through angle to set definite angle between strip input and output, and total twisting is such that after turning through 180 degrees lower side of strip getting into first roller becomes upper side and vice versa. Device used to provided such turning is made in form of column consisting of vertical loop storage unit for turning the strip and many upper and lower guide rollers for strip. When strip moves from roller to roller, rollers turn in one and the same circumferential direction through definite angles relative to axis of put in strip so that strip embracing the roller pair, formed by one lower and one upper roller, is twisted through angle equal to 180 degrees. EFFECT: improved spatial relationship, reduced operation costs, improved transportation of steel strip through installation for continuous machining. 8 cl, 8 dwg
