FIELD: metallurgy, namely continuous casting and rolling. SUBSTANCE: during successive technological steps in flow line hot rolled strips or shapes are made from continuously cast semifinished product. Said product is continuously cast in one or several casting machines. After crystallization it is cut by pieces. Said pieces are passed through compensation furnace in order to heat them in heating zone at first up to rolling temperature. Then said pieces are fed to buffer zone and accumulation zone from which they are transferred to rolling mill for finish rolling. Such method and plant for performing it provide significantly lowered length of furnace station due to charging said pieces out of buffer zone to conveyer and transporting them by means of said conveyer in cross direction from casting line to rolling line. In rolling line said pieces are fed lengthwise in direction opposite relative to feed direction of continuously cast semifinished product and they are accumulated with the aid of accumulating furnace arranged in rolling line near said compensation furnace. According to demand said pieces may be fed by means of said conveyer out of accumulation furnace through temperature-control furnace arranged behind said conveyer in front of rolling mill into said rolling mill for finish rolling them to ready products. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method, improved arrangement of units of manufacturing line. 7 cl, 3 dwg
