DEVICE FOR CLEANING OF PETROLEUM-CONTAINING SEWAGE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning of liquid and sewage of suspended substances and liquids immiscible with it, applicable in constructions for treatment of industrial and domestic waste. SUBSTANCE: use is made of a compact device cheap in production that can carry out a high-quality physico-mechanical cleaning of petroleum-containing industrial sewage. The device has a chamber for separation of light and heavy fractions, filtering element, supply and discharge pipe-lines. The device is made as an integrated cylindrical casing with a tangential inlet connection in the upper cylindrical part of the casing communicating with the chamber for separation of light and heavy fractions in the form of an annular collector. The collector accommodates funnels of hydraulic cyclones located coaxially in fixed vertical guide pipes passing through an elastofibrous filtering element occupying the whole interior cylindrical part of the casing. The element is retained from the top by a fixed perforated washer, a from the bottom by a movable one with a squeezing mechanism. A cylindrical slime collector is positioned in the bottom part of the casing. The elastofibrous element is a mix of foam-polyethylene and Lavsan polyester fibres.
