FIELD: metallurgy and mechanical engineering, in particular methods of heat treatment of steel stamped-rolled railroad and crane wheels. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating to temperature of austenization, differentiated cooling of rim with water to temperature MH+ (30-50 C) with the rate close to critical rate of hardening for martensite; further on, to temperature of 240-300 C with rate of 1-2 C/s and tempering at temperature of 300 ± 50 C. EFFECT: production of wheels with high wear and heat resistance due to layer structural state of metal of wheel rim with preset properties. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
