FIELD: testing technology. SUBSTANCE: method includes selection of three blanks from every sheet steel lot, stamping of parts from them and determination of mechanical property characteristics: elastic anisotropy coefficient R, index of strain hardening n, elastic deformation nonuniformity A, and complex criterion value of ability for being stamped F by dependence F = A/R•n. The values are used to determine boundary values of F corresponding to high- and low-quality parts and range of indefinite ability for being stamped. Estimation of sheet steel ability for being stamped is performed by numerical value of properly stamped melts up to boundary of melts with indefinite ability for being stamped.
