FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to control of flooding during development of deposit. According to method, bore-holes are drilled and determined is position of gas-water contact. Determined in taken gas samples are concentrations of trace elements. Then plotted is dependence of these concentrations on distance between opening zone of bed and gas-water contact. Advancement of gas-water contact and flooding of wells are judged according to changing concentrations of trace elements in periodically taken gas samples. Application of aforesaid method allows for increasing reliability, accuracy and durability of forecast about advancement of gas-water contact at given stages of flooding.
