FIELD: processing television signals. SUBSTANCE: single adaptive band equalizer is used in television signal processing device for processing composite quadrature amplitude modulated signal coded by high- and standard-priority components. Output signal phase is corrected by phase-shift corrector and filtered off to separate high-priority components from low-priority ones. Error signals generated in the process are, essentially, phase errors for high- and standard-priority components, respectively. One of error signals controls phase-shift corrector. Both error signals are used for shaping updated factors for adaptive equalizer. Then high- and standard- priority components are decoded and combined.
