HEAVY FREIGHT CONTAINER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; materials handling facilities; transportation of loose and the like materials over long, short and medium distances. SUBSTANCE: ISO standard container has housing and yoke for lifting container by crane mounted on one of end face walls. Extensible support rollers are mounted on housing under its bottom. Two upper U-shaped belts are found on side walls of housing to form slots handling the container by fork-lift truck. Container has yoke 26 for lifting it by crane which can be removed or adjusted in height. Rotating support rollers are provided on opposite end of container 1 on telescopic cantilevers. Rollers are extended beyond overall dimensions of container, and when retracted, are within the limits of overall dimensions. Guide rails 3 and 4 are provided on bottom 2 of container 1. EFFECT: enhanced convenience of operation at short, medium and long hauls with possibility of stacking. 23 cl, 14 dwg
