SUBSTANCE: invention relates to derivatives of 1,3-oxazine-4-one of the formula (I) where R¹ - phenyl possibly substituted with halogen or lower alkyl; R²,R⁶ - H, lower alkyl; R³ - H, lower alkyl, 1-phenylethyl, 2-phenylethyl, 1-methyl-1-phenylethyl or phenyl possibly substituted with halogen, hydroxy-group, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, phenoxy-group, alkylthio-group, alkylsulfonyl- -group, lower halogenalkyl, halogenalkoxyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonylalkoxyl, acetyl, CN or NO₂; R⁴ and R⁵ - lower alkyl; W - oxygen atom or -N(R⁶). Compounds of the formula (I) can be used as herbicides and as compositions, they show strong herbicide effect on many weed species but exhibit very low phytotoxicity with respect to cultured plants.
