FIELD: fuzes. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to base fuzes used in various types of ammunition such as grenades of grenade thrower rounds, rifle grenades, ammunition of directed action including shaped charges, ammunition of nonlethal action for which it is inadmissible to propel hitting elements presenting fragments of head fuze forward in direction of flight of ammunition. Base fuze has case housing firing gear in the form of tip with countersafety spring and spherical inertial body installed in cavity made in bottom part of case that includes conical bottom section and cylindrical section, safety system and firing circuit. Spherical inertial body is mounted for rolling. Parameters of conical section of specified cavity are so chosen that movement of tip under action of spherical inertial body when the latter moves along bottom conical section is less than working stroke of tip that is distance between sharp end of tip and initial element of firing circuit. Apart from them fuze can be fitted with mechanism of remote cocking and/or remote-control device and/or self-destruction mechanism and ignition mechanism to set them in action.
