FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: proposed level indicator is used to determine level and variations of level of fluid and loose materials including corrosive, toxic and explosive media in storages and closed reservoirs at enterprises of fuel-power and chemical complexes, of food and other industries by noncontact method. Level indicator has antenna unit, two mixers, intermediate frequency amplifier, frequency converter, analog-to-digital converter, device of spectral analysis, phase-meter, filter, multiplier, coupler, two amplifiers, generator of modulating signal, SHF generator, three frequency dividers, synthesizer, unit of phase autotuning of frequency, adder and reference frequency generator. Specified units are properly interconnected. Level indicator allows level and its variations to be measured with high accuracy and in wide range with simultaneous reduction of overall dimensions and mass.
