SHORT-RANGE RADIOLOCATOR WITH ULTRA HIGH RESOLUTION (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01S13/00

Abstract RU 2362180 C2

FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radar systems with high and ultra high resolution specifically purposed for detection and identification of explosives. Applied radiolocator contains transmitter consisting of voltage-controlled generator, which output is connected to transmitting antenna through power splitter, and phase lock channel switched on between the second output and control input of generator; receiver consisting of series-connected receiving antennae, balanced mixer, the second balanced mixer, band-pass filter, intermediate frequency amplifier, phase detector and analog-to-digital converter (ADC); output of ADC is connected to input of control module, clock generator is connected to the second input and outputs of control module are connected with control inputs of frequency synthesizer of phase lock channel, idler frequency shaping unit and ADC; the first output of idler frequency shaping unit is connected to the second input of phase detector, remaining outputs of this unit are connected to inputs of balanced mixer; the second input of the second balanced mixer is connected with output of directional coupler, reference frequency generator is connected to inputs of reference signal frequency synthesizer of phase lock channel and idler frequency shaping unit. In the second option of radiolocator input signal of intermediate frequency amplifier is processed by two phase detectors manufactured in the form of analog multipliers and two ADCs.

EFFECT: increase in consistency of device operation in wide frequency tuning range.
