FIELD: fire fighting method and equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves suppressing fire in two stages: at first stage, by means of at least one fog-like water jet containing relatively large drops and possessing penetrating capacity sufficient for fire suppression, and at second stage, dissipating fog-like water jet used at first stage by mixing it with non-combustible gas under pressure to produce turbulent liquid fog which is uniformly supplied into premises where fire occurred. Method and apparatus are effectively used for suppressing fire in difficult-to-suppress glowing fire zones, such as cable fires in upper zones of premises at wall and ceiling junctions.
