SUBSTANCE: method for making ladder frame unit for motor transport vehicle comprises steps of forming rear, front and central side rail modules. Central module is formed by moving metallic sheet through row of rollers designed for engaging with mutually opposite surfaces of metallic sheet at rotation for imparting to it (by bending) configuration with U-shaped cross section. Cross section has portion of main vertical wall and pair of extending outside mutually parallel portions of horizontal walls passing from opposite ends of main wall portion that is bent between two mutually spaced points in limits of its plane at tensioning one portion of horizontal walls and by compressing opposite portion of horizontal wall passing from opposite end of main wall. Front and rear side rail modules are rigidly secured to opposite ends of central side rail module. EFFECT: possibility of making side rails of any desired shape. 27 cl, 27 dwg
