METHOD OF OPERATION OF WELL AND PERFORATOR FOR OIL WELL TUBING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2126496 C1

FIELD: oil production; well completion, repair, starting and placing in required mode. SUBSTANCE: after lowering the tubing string and equipment, wellhead and annulus pressures and dynamic level are measured; then rate and range of change of these parameters are measured, after which depth of position, diameter and number of holes required for communication of tube and annulus space are determined. Perforator is lowered in tubing and holes are made in tube walls, after which measurement are repeated and perforation is made again till optimal mode of operation of well is achieved. Perforator has housing consisting of three parts: upper and center parts have air-filled cavities and liquid-filled chamber; pistons with plungers are located in these parts; lower part has liquid-filled chamber and air chamber; arranged in lower part are bearing pistons and piston-punch which are communicated by means of passages; they are also communicated with liquid chamber located above. They are also brought in communication with air chamber by means of throttling passage. Bearing pistons and piston punch have similar diameters in cross section. Area of cross section of pistons is equal to four areas of cross section of plunger; area of piston-punch is equal to two areas of plunger.
