SEALING MEMBER AND BASE DEVICE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: protection of fibre-optics spliced sections and other accessories against adverse effect of surrounding medium. SUBSTANCE: sealing member includes elastomer element for holding the sealing material having cone penetration coefficient in diameter of from 80 to 400(10^-1) mm and ultimate elongation coefficient equal to 100 percent as minimum. Elastomer element is provided with sealing ring. Base device has one base member with first surface and other member with second surface. Members are located for possible approach of first and second surfaces and compression of sealing member located between them. Sealing member is mounted for contact of its elastomer element in order to hold material with above-mentioned first and second surfaces.
